our house rules

We're delighted to have you join our Jyan Yoga Studio community. Just like any family, your participation and adherence to our house rules play an essential role in fostering a harmonious environment. Our aim is to ensure that every individual who becomes a part of our studio enjoys a wonderful yoga experience.

  • Please arrive to class at least 10 minutes early. Latecomers who arrive more than 10 minutes after class starts will not be allowed to join the class.

  • Keep conversations to a minimum and speak in a low volume only when necessary before class.

  • All electronic devices must be in the reception area and silenced before the practice begins. Smart watches should be on DO NOT DISTURB during class so that notifications and lights will not go off during practice.

  • Do not check your calories, answer texts, check emails, etc. through your smart watch during your practice.

  • If you have an emergency or in a situation where you need to be available via your mobile device, please let the instructor know before class.

  • Enter the studio quietly and talk softly, especially if there is a class still in session.

  • Do not step on any mats except for your own.

  • No food and drinks inside the studio.

  • Please book your class ONLINE or via the MOMENCE app. You may reserve classes up to 1 month in advance.

  • You may cancel a class no less than 6 hours before class starts. Late cancellations for each class will be counted as one session deducted from your package.

  • In the event of a “no show”, your booking will be counted as absent and release to those on our waitlist. This will still be counted as one session deducted from your package.

  • If less than 4 people are registered for a class at least 6 hours prior to the start, the class will be cancelled; you will not be charged or lose a class and will be notified via email. It is your responsibility to check on the class status as we will not be contacting you.

  • If a class is fully booked, you may still sign up and put yourself on the waitlist.

  • As soon as you get a spot, an automated email will be sent to you via MOMENCE. It is your responsibility to check on your waitlist status as we will not be contacting you.

  • If you cannot make it, or choose to give up your waitlisted booking, please cancel so the next student can move up and you can avoid any penalty.

  • Shoes are not allowed in our studio.

  • Please leave your shoes along the side of the stairs and place your bags in the cubby holes at the reception area.

  • We don't have a water dispenser, so do remember to bring your own water bottle. Alternatively, you can purchase bottled water for $2.

  • Please wipe it off your sweat on the mat after class and dispose of all rubbish in the bins provided in the studio.

  • Put your used towels into the laundry basket located at the reception area.

  • Please use only what you need and limit your shower time to 5 minutes if there are people waiting and 10 minutes if there is no one waiting.

  • Kindly fold blankets properly and neatly return all borrowed props to their respective areas.

  • We open 15 minutes before the first class and close 30 minutes after the last class ends. If you need to take a shower after the last class of the day, please do so quickly!

  • Please do not leave anything behind after class. If you did, please drop us a WhatsApp or send us an email within the day. Any items left behind will be removed and disposed of without notice at the end of each day if we are not notified.

  • Before class, please notify us or our yoga teachers, should you and/or your children have any medical conditions or physical limitations.

  • Children below 12 years are not allowed to join our regular classes. Children above 12 years will have to pay full-price for a regular class. If the child wishes to leave halfway through class, the class will not be refunded. Participants should not be disruptive and affect other students.

  • Keep all communication with staff members professional while in the studio.

  • Please treat our staff with the same respect you would expect to receive.

It is your responsibility to inform the instructor of limitations before class begins. Yoga includes physical movements as well as an opportunity for relaxation, stress re-education and relief of muscular tension. As is the case with any physical activity, the risk of injury, even serious or disabling, is always present and cannot be entirely eliminated. If you experience any pain or discomfort, you will listen to your body, discontinue the activity, and ask for support from the instructor. You assume full responsibility for any and all damages, which may incur through participation.

Yoga is not a substitute for medical attention, examination, diagnosis or treatment. Yoga is not recommended and is not safe under certain medical conditions.

By signing up for a class or package, you affirm that a licensed physician has verified your good health and physical condition to participate in such a fitness program.

In addition, you will make the instructor aware of any medical conditions

or physical limitations before class. If you are pregnant, become pregnant or you are post-natal or post-surgical, by purchasing a class or package, you have your physician's approval to participate. You also affirm that you alone are responsible to decide whether to practice yoga and participation is at your own risk.

Thank you in advance for adhering to our requests and respecting your fellow mat mates.

Jyan Yoga reserves the right to amend our house rules from time to time without notice.
